The furnace in our 5th & 6th grade middle school classroom gave out during January and needed to be replaced. This was an unexpected expense and CCS is now accepting donations toward the cost of the new furnace ($3,000). If you are able to help, please make checks payable to CCS and include “furnace” in the memo portion of the check. Spread the word!
Field Trip – 1st & 2nd Grade – February 9th
Mrs. Baerlocher’s class will be taking a tour of the Post Office and the Baraboo State Bank on Friday, February 9th.
Half Day of School – Friday, February 16th – Dismissing at 12:30 p.m.
This will be a shortened day of classes. Lunch will be served and dismissal will be after recess.
Classroom Challenge – Now through February 15th
It’s time again to bring in your BoxTops, Milk Moola, Coke Rewards and Ranch Wheels for our classroom challenge. Beginning today and running through Thursday, February 15th, students are encouraged to bring in items listed above. The classroom that collects the highest percentage will receive a special reward.
The goal of Forensics is to enhance communication skills through participation in theatre, debate and speech activities. We have several middle and high school students participating this year.

Chess Club – Tuesdays 3:00 to 4:00
Chess Club continues to meet every Tuesday in the high school classroom from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. All students are invited and beginners are especially welcome to join. Please notify the office if your student will be staying for club.
Fundraising Committee – CCS is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Fundraising Committee.
Boys Golf Coaches – CCS is seeking volunteers to coach the boys’ golf team for this spring season, which begins March and ends with competitions in May.
Lunchroom/Recess Supervision. Help is need to serve lunch and monitor the lunchroom each day. Outdoor recess monitors are also need during lunch.

Cold & Flu Season
If in doubt about whether or not to send your child to school due to illness, please refer to “Illness” on page 21 of the school handbook (available on the school website), or contact the school office. To report absences, send a note or email to the school office; the office will then inform the faculty.
Fevers: “Students should be kept at home for at least 24 hours after running a fever or vomiting. If they run a fever during the school day, they will not be permitted to return to class until fever-free for a 24 hour period without the use of medication.”
