Bible-A-Thon – March 5th through March 23rd
The Bible-A-Thon got off to a great start with a total of $6,505 pledged during round one, and round two brought in an additional $310 in pledges. The final turn in date for pledges is this Friday, March 23rd; let’s make it our best! Pledge sheets will be returned during assembly on Friday afternoon so students can collect pledged funds during Easter Break.

So far we have raised a little over 53% ($1,595) toward our goal of $3,000. Our tubing event at Cascade raised $310 and we will receive matching funds of $310 as well. If you are able to help us finish strong and meet our goal, please make checks payable to CCS and include “furnace” in the memo portion of the check.
PTO Meeting – Tuesday, March 20th
The next meeting of the CCS PTO will be held this Tuesday, March 20th right after school dismissal. The meeting will be held in the gym beginning at 3:10 pm. Attending PTO meetings is highly encouraged for all parents/guardians, and a great way to stay informed on PTO events.
Grades 3rd & 4th Field Trip – Tuesday, March 20th
Students in Mrs. Diers’ class will be traveling to the MacKenzie Center to learn how Native Americans traveled to the sugar bush and made maple sugar. They will also learn to identify maple trees and their ecology. They will even get to tap the trees and taste fresh maple syrup. Students should bring a sack lunch. Drivers/chaperones are arranged.
Parent/Teacher Conferences – Thursday, April 5th and Friday, April 6th (no school Friday)
Letters with your scheduled conference times were sent home last week.
The 8th grade class will be selling baked goods during Parent/Teacher Conferences to raise funds for their trip to the Creation Museum. Stop by, pick up some tasty treats, and help the students have a fun trip.
Kindergarten Field Trip – April 13th
Mrs. Hilario’s class will be taking a trip to Leatherberry Acres on Friday, April 13th. Permission slips are in today’s take home folders.
30-Hour Famine – April 13th – 14th
Mrs. Hawkins’ middle school students will be participating in a 30-Hour Famine at the school beginning at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 13th and ending around 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14th. As part of this year’s 30-Hour Famine students will be volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and the Baraboo Food Pantry. Permission slips will be sent home April 3rd.
Order forms are in today’s take home folders. Orders must be turned in not later than April 3rd if ordering and paying with a check. If ordering online, orders must be completed and paid by April 9th.
Chess Club – Tuesdays 3:00 to 4:00
This will be the last week of chess club. All students are invited to participate.
