The last PTO meeting for this school year is today right after school and there are several activities/events coming up that will be discussed. Please attend this important meeting to learn what is ahead and how you can help.
Preview Day – Tuesday, May 16 (Note date change)
Students who will be changing classrooms next year will preview their new classrooms and teachers this morning.
Grades 3-5 Rural Safety Day – Wednesday, May 17
Students in Mrs. Diers’s class will take part in the annual Rural Safety Camp held at the Sauk County Fairgrounds. They will learn about safety issues and prevention in various disciplines. Students may wear jeans for this field trip.
Middle School to Food Pantry – Wednesday, May 17
Middle school students will be spending a few hours helping set up the Food Pantry at Bridgepoint Mission Center in Wisconsin Dells this Wednesday. We need drivers for this trip! Please contact the school office if you are available to help.
Grades 3-5 Badger Steam & Gas Show Grounds – Friday, May 19
Students in Mrs. Diers’ 3-5 class will be attending an educational tour at the Badger Steam & Gas Engine Club show grounds. While there, students will learn about steam and gas engines and how they have been used throughout history. We will need 5-6 chaperones/drivers for this trip. Permission slips are in today’s take-home folders. If you can help please indicate this on the form.
Timbavati Field Trip – Friday, May 26
Students in 1st through 8th grade will be visiting Timbavati Wildlife Park in Wisconsin Dells. Permission slips are in today’s take-home folders. Lots of drivers/chaperones are needed for this trip. Please indicate on the form if you are able to help.
Grades 1-2 Field Trip to Madison – Wednesday, May 31
Students in Mrs. Baerlocher’s class will be visiting the Planetarium in Madison and later conducting a service project nearby. Permission slips are in today’s take-home folders.
Kindergarten and 8th Grade Graduation – Tuesday, May 30 – 6:30 pm
Graduation will be held at Living Hope Church. Dress code for participating students (grades 1-5) is the default field trip uniform: royal blue polo shirt with logo, and khaki bottoms. Kindergarten and 8th Grade graduates may wear dress clothes. A rehearsal will be held at the church that morning. Transportation will be provided by a charter bus. Permission slips are in today’s take-home folders.
High School Graduation – Thursday, June 8 – 6:30 pm
Graduation will be held at Walnut Hill Bible Church. High schoolers need to arrive by 5:30 for rehearsal. Participating high school students should wear dress clothes.

With just 3 days left, we are approximately $165 away from meeting our “PearUp” goal! See the enclosed flyer to find out how you can help us meet our goal of $1,000. If we do reach our goal, U.S. Cellular will come to the school and present us with a big huge check!
Labels Challenge Now through May 24
The classrooms are in the midst of a “label challenge.” Students are challenged to bring in as many Box Tops, Labels4Education, Milk Moola, MyCokeRewards, and Pizza Ranch Wagon Wheels as possible. The classroom with the highest percentage of collected labels/caps, etc. will receive a special reward. All items need to be turned into the classroom teacher by Wednesday, May 24.
Schoola Clothing Drive for CCS – May 1 through May 26
Our Schoola clothing drive continues. Bring your pre-loved women’s and children’s clothing to school during May and place them in our drive bins. If you are inspired to do some spring cleaning, your closet is a great place to start and CCS is a great place to donate! CCS earns $2 out of every $5 sold through Schoola.
Scholarship Application Deadline – May 30
Tuition scholarships are available each year and awarded to families based on proven need. Scholarship applications for the 2017-18 school year are due by Tuesday, May 30. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please ask the school office for an application.
CCS Now Enrolling Yard Signs
There are still several yard signs advertising that CCS is “Now Enrolling”, available for anyone interested in placing one in their yard. These can be found outside the school office. You can also earn volunteer hours by placing yard signs around town with property owners’ permissions.
