Iowa Standardized Testing – Thursday, May 11 & Friday, May 12
CCS will be conducting standardized testing this Thursday and Friday. Students are encouraged to get a good night’s sleep and to eat a healthy breakfast to start their day. The testing will be spread out over two days to allow for plenty of breaks and extra recess time. The purpose of this test is to identify the school’s overall academic achievement, and to track individual students’ progress over time.

Labels Challenge Now through May 24
The classrooms are in the midst of a “label challenge.” Students are challenged to bring in as many Box Tops, Labels4Education, Milk Moola, MyCokeRewards, and Pizza Ranch Wagon Wheels as possible. The classroom with the highest percentage of collected labels/caps, etc. will receive a special reward. All items need to be turned into the classroom teacher by Wednesday, May 24.
Schoola Clothing Drive for CCS – May 1 through May 26
Our Schoola clothing drive continues. Bring your pre-loved women’s and children’s clothing to school during May and place them in our drive bins. If you are inspired to do some spring cleaning, your closet is a great place to start and CCS is a great place to donate! CCS earns $2 out of every $5 sold through Schoola.
High School Boys Golf Team
The boys’ golf season is in full swing and there are a few tournaments coming up for the team.

PTO Meeting – Monday, May 15 – 3:10 p.m. (Note time change)
The Parent Committee has several activities/events coming up as we approach the end of the school year. Please attend this important meeting to learn what is ahead and how you can help. This will be the last PTO meeting of the school year.
Grades 3-5 Rural Safety Day – Wednesday, May 17
Students in Mrs. Diers’s class will take part in the annual Rural Safety Camp held at the Sauk County Fairgrounds. They will learn about safety issues and prevention in various disciplines. We still need 2 more drivers. Students may wear jeans for this field trip.
Middle School to Food Pantry – Wednesday, May 17
Middle school students will be spending a few hours helping set up the Food Pantry at Bridgepoint Mission Center in Wisconsin Dells this Wednesday. Permission slips are in today’s take-home folders.
Preview Day – Tuesday, May 23
Students who will be changing classrooms next year will preview their new classrooms and teachers this morning.
Timbavati Field Trip – Friday, May 26
Students in Mrs. Baerlocher’s and Mrs. Hawkins’s classrooms will be visiting Timbavati in Wisconsin Dells. Permission slips will be sent home next week with more information.
Scholarship Application Deadline – May 30
Tuition scholarships are available each year, and awarded to families based on proven need. Scholarship applications for the 2017-18 school year are due by Tuesday, May 30. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please ask the school office for an application.
Grades 1-2 Field Trip to Madison – Wednesday, May 31
Students in Mrs. Baerlocher’s class will be visiting the Planetarium in Madison and hope to connect with another Christian school for lunch. Look for more information and permission slips in coming weeks.
Kindergarten and 8th Grade Graduation – Tuesday, May 30 – 6:30 pm
Graduation will be held at Living Hope Church. Dress code for participating students (grades 1-5) is the default field trip uniform: royal blue polo shirt with logo, and khaki bottoms. Kindergarten and 8th Grade graduates may wear dress clothes.
High School Graduation – Thursday, June 8 – 6:30 pm
Graduation will be held at Walnut Hill Bible Church. High schoolers need to arrive by 5:30 for rehearsal. Participating high school students should wear dress clothes.
CCS Now Enrolling Yard Signs
There are still several yard signs advertising that CCS is “Now Enrolling”, available for anyone interested in placing one in their yard. These can be found outside the school office. You can also earn volunteer hours by placing yard signs around town with property owners’ permissions.
