There are quite a few events on the calendar this week. Please take note of the dates and times:
Forensics Contests – Tuesday, January 19th – 3:30 p.m. Beaver Dam Middle School
The first contest for our middle school Forensics team is this afternoon. Students have been practicing diligently and we’re excited to see how well they do in competition. Spectators are welcome to observe. Rounds begin at 4:00 at the Beaver Dam middle school.
Midas Basketball Schedule for January
Our CCS Royals have a couple of basketball games this week. It would be great to see some fans in the bleachers cheering them on. Games start at 4:30 p.m. – hope to see you there.
1/19 – Boys’ CCS at Eagle School, 5454 Gunflint Trail, Madison.
1/21 – Girls’ CCS at Eagle School, 5454 Gunflint Trail, Madison.
Open House and Game Night – Friday, January 22 – 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
CCS has invited the public to visit our school to learn about the opportunities we offer through classical Christian education. We invite CCS parents to stop out at the same time for a bit of fellowship, games, and snacks. This is a great way to promote our school, get to know one another better, and to show our community what a fun time we have here at CCS. This event is FREE, but ice cream concessions will be available to purchase. Grab your favorite board game and come out for a fun evening. Don’t have any board games? Not a problem. We will have plenty on hand to share with you.
Parent Committee Meeting – RESCHEDULED! Monday, January 25- 6:30 p.m.
Parents, please join us for this month’s meeting. We will be discussing several important items and would like your input. These meetings are a great way to stay up to date on what the committee is doing and how you can help serve.
CCS is interested in starting a Chess Club! Are your students interested in participating? If so, please send an email to high school teacher Tom Considine at email@example.com with your students’ names and grades, and a preferred meeting day/time. The club will be open to all ages.
CCS Gala for Education – Friday, March 4th
Please refer to the enclosed letter and attached poster found in your student’s take home folder today. You’ll find instructions about how you can help generate interest in our Gala.
Lunch Help Needed!
We need a volunteer to help in the lunchroom each Monday. For more information, please contact the office.
Labels 4 Education
Snipping and collecting Labels 4 Education is an easy way to help raise funds for the Parent Committee. Inside today’s take home folder you’ll find a listing of products participating in this program. You may want to keep this list handy when you’re out shopping.
Closings and Delays due to Inclement Weather
If the school needs to close or delay opening for inclement weather, families will be notified by email; please make sure that your email address on file with the school is up to date. You may also check the school’s Facebook page and website where we will post the same information. Additionally, we will be listed on Channel3000, WKOW27, and NBC15. Any decisions will be made by 6:30am; if there is no announcement by 6:30am, school will be open as usual. Be aware that CCS does NOT always follow the public school district’s decision in these matters. Further details are in the Student/Parent Handbook, p.26. Also, please send your students to school with appropriate winter weather gear (hat, gloves, and winter jacket to go outside; boots and snowpants to go in the snow).
