Katherine Rozendal is the High School English Language Arts Teacher and the 4K–8th grade Music Teacher. She is also the director of CCS’s new Theatre Program.
In 2020, Katherine received her B.A. in English Secondary Education with a Theatre Minor from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She holds a Standard Teaching Certificate from the Michigan Department of Education. She is also a member of the National Council for Teachers of English. Katherine completed several teaching internships while attending Calvin University. She was a teacher aide at Kenowa High School, Forest Hills Eastern High School, and Ottawa Hills High School. She performed her student teaching at Lowell High School. She has also done some tutoring in English Language Arts.
In August 2020, Katherine joined the CCS team. She cares deeply for students and hopes to inspire them to interact with literature and culture through a lens of faith. Katherine grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, and Holland, Michigan. She loves spending time with her parents and younger brother who live in Holland. She also enjoys hanging out with her friends and her boyfriend, Toby. In her free time, she likes reading, listening to podcasts, hiking, cooking, listening to all types of music, and being involved in theatre productions.
