Wisconsin Forward Assessments
This week, certain grades will be finishing their Wisconsin Forward standardized assessments at CCS:
Tuesday, April 30 – grades 5-6 English Language Arts and Mathematics
Wednesday, May 1 in the morning – grade 10 Social Studies
Wednesday, May 1 in the afternoon – grades 3-4 Mathematics
Please avoid scheduling any appointments or activities that would remove students from school on these dates. Let us know if you have any questions. Please make sure your child has plenty of sleep the night before and a good breakfast.
National Day of Prayer – Thursday, May 2nd
CCS has been invited to be part of the National Day of Prayer. This event is held on the Sauk County Courthouse lawn in downtown Baraboo. Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade have been invited to participate. Permission slips were sent home last week.
Chess Club – Thursday, May 2nd (3:15 to 4:00)
This will be the last Chess Club for the school year. Please notify the office if your student will be staying for club.
Middle & High School Service Project – Friday, May 3rd
Students in grades 7 through 12, along with their teachers, will be performing a service project at Expeditions Unlimited on Friday, May 3, 2019. They will be helping prepare the grounds for their summer camps and events. Permission slips are in today’s Family Folder. Chaperones are still needed to help with this project.
“Put Your Teacher in Jail” – April 22nd to May 3rd
The 8th grade class is heading to the Creation Museum in Kentucky May 17-19. To help defray the cost of this trip, the class is hosting a “Put Your Teacher in Jail” fundraiser which ends this week. Students are encouraged to donate their change to the “jail jar” associated with the teacher they would most like to see “jailed” for half a day. The teacher with the most “jail jar” funds will spend an afternoon in “jail” and their class will get a party.
Kindergarten Field Trip – Thursday, May 9th
The students in Mrs. Hilario’s class are heading to the Madison Children’s Museum for some hands-on learning. Chaperones have been arranged for this trip and permission slips are in today’s Family Folder.
