Snow/Ice Days – Make-Up
In order to make up time for days school has been cancelled due to ice/snow, we will need to extend the school year. Once the exact date has been determined for our last day we will notify everyone.
Labels Challenge Now through February 1st
Remember to send in all the labels you have been collecting. All items must be turned in by this Wednesday, February 1st. The classroom with the highest percentage of collected labels/caps, etc. will receive a special reward.
STEM Club – Thursday, February 2nd and 16th – 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Dr. Mendoza will be holding STEM Club meetings twice during February. This club is for any/all interested students. Please let the office know if your student will be staying for club.
CCS Gala for Education – “A Night of Clues” – Friday, February 10, 2017
Have you bought your tickets yet? They are going fast! Our biggest fundraising event is a little over a week away, and there are some great items/packages up for bid during the live and silent auctions. Tickets for the Gala are available in the school office or online (barabooccs.com). Use discount code ccsfam when checking out to receive the family discount rate of $30 each for up to two tickets (regular $60 each).
High School Student Help at the Gala
The high school students have been invited by the Gala Committee to help with various tasks at the Gala, such as door greeting, taking coats, clearing dishes, serving at the buffet line, serving drinks, making a forensics presentation, and cleanup afterwards. Participants will earn service hours toward the ten hours of volunteer service required every year, dinner, and up to five jeans day coupons. Students may choose to wear fancy and modest dress clothes in the style of a vintage mystery; otherwise, they should wear black dress pants and white dress tops.
Mrs. Biffert is coaching several of our middle and high school students in Forensics; the goal of Forensics is to enhance communication skills through participation in Theatre, Debate and Speech activities. The first contest for middle school students is Tuesday, February 7th, and will be held after school in Beaver Dam. Permission slips for this event are in today’s take home folder. The first contest for high school is Monday, February 20th in Pardeeville.
Chess Club – Chess Club begins in February and is open to all interested students. More details to come.

CCS Culver’s Scrip Blitz – Ends Tuesday, January 31st
Last call! Get your Culver’s Scrip cards now and receive 10% of the card value toward your tuition (if tuition is paid off, credit will carry over into next year). Cards will still be available after Tuesday, but the credit toward tuition will return to just 5%. Each $25 scrip card comes with a coupon for a free value basket (good through February 26th) and can be purchased through the school office.
Wisconsin Private School Tax Deduction
This tax deduction is available to any claimant for a pupil’s tuition to attend an eligible institution and for mandatory book fees paid to the institution. To receive a receipt of tuition and book fees paid during calendar year 2016, send a request to Debbie Hanchek at: firstname.lastname@example.org
We are continuously looking for extra help at lunch time. If you are available to help with lunch recess or monitoring the lunchroom, please contact the school office. Two volunteers are needed each day of the week.
