Each year CCS has several middle and high school students who participate in Forensics. The goal of Forensics is to enhance communication skills through participation in theatre, debate and speech activities. CCS is in need of volunteers to become certified to judge speech competitions (five events maximum in February, March, and April) through the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association. Schools can only participate if they provide judges for the competitions. Certification requires a couple of hours of online/in-person training. Please contact Micheleen Cook for more details: firstname.lastname@example.org/608-
Junior High Boys Basketball
The CCS Junior High Boys Basketball team is looking for boys to sign up for this upcoming season. Boys in grades 5th to 8th grade at CCS or homeschooled can sign up for the team by clicking here. Practice will start on November 29th after school. Games run through December and January, with most games and practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games will be played against area private schools and Madison homeschool teams.
December 7th – Half Day (dismissing at 12:30)
The lunch menu mistakenly listed Friday, December 7th as a work day for teachers. This is a half-day for students and a service project day. Staff and students will go caroling at local nursing homes, the hospital and downtown Baraboo businesses. Permission slips will be sent at a later date.
Refer to page 14 of the student handbook regarding outdoor clothing guidelines. When temperatures dip to 35 degrees or below, a jacket, hat and mittens/gloves are required for outdoor play. Boots are also required to play in the snow. Please be sure to send these items with your student. Consider sending an extra set of hats/mittens to be kept at school.
