Usborne Book Fair – Through Friday, November 9th

The annual Book Fair began during the Craft Fair over the weekend. The display will remain set up during this week for students to “window shop” and make their wish lists. Parents are invited to shop during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Books make great gifts and the school receives 50% of all purchases in Usborne credits.

Parent/Student Meetings with the Board

There will be two meetings at which members of the governing body of the school will be present and at which all pupils and the parents or guardians of all pupils applying to attend the school or attending the school may meet and communicate with board members. The meetings will take place at CCS at the following dates and times:

Friday, November 9 at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 7 at 6:30 pm

PTO Meeting – Tuesday, November 13th (3:15 pm)

Among other PTO business, the election of new members for the Board of Directors will take place during the meeting. Absentee ballots are available in the school office through the end of day next Monday. Each family receives one ballot. The PTO monthly newsletter is in today’s Family Folder. New PTO Scrip orders and payment are due November 14th.

Picture Retake Day – Thursday, November 15th

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your school pictures, contact the office and a spot will be reserved for your student on Picture Retake Day. Pictures will be taken first thing Thursday morning, November 15th.

Veteran’s Day Program – Thursday, November 15th – 6:30 pm

CCS students along with their teachers have prepared a special program to honor our American Heroes: Military, Police, Fire and EMS personnel – active and retired.

Where: Living Hope Church, Baraboo

Time: Students arrive by 6:15 pm /Program begins at 6:30 pm.

Student Attire: Red, white or blue uniform top and khaki pants/skirt.

Students and teachers will travel via bus to practice at the church that morning. Permission slips are in today’s Family Folder. Please complete and return forms with the Family Folder by this Wednesday, November 7th.

Inclement Weather – School Closings Information

If the school needs to close or delay opening for inclement weather, families will be notified by email. You may also check the school’s website and facebook page where we will post the same information. Additionally, we will be listed on Channel3000, WKOW27, and NBC15. Any decisions will be made by 6:30 am; if there is no announcement by 6:30 am, school will be open in the morning as usual. While CCS generally follows the Baraboo School District regarding cancellations/delays, be aware that CCS does not always follow their decisions. In case of severe weather during the school day, students will remain at school until they are dismissed.

Cooler Weather

Please be sure your child has appropriate outerwear for the weather as we head into winter.

Junior High Boys Basketball

The CCS Junior High Boys Basketball team is looking for boys to sign up for this upcoming season. Boys in grades 5th to 8th grade at CCS or homeschooled can sign up for the team by clicking here. Practice will start on November 29th after school. Games run through December and January, with most games and practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games will be played against area private schools and Madison homeschool teams.
