Picture Day – Monday, October 1st

If your student was absent for Picture Day today, don’t worry. A retake day has been scheduled for November 15th. If you did not order pictures using the packets that were sent home, you can still order online at Use Picture Day ID FS148354Q0. Previews of pictures will not be available until photos and orders have been processed and shipped to CCS (about three weeks).

Board Nominations

CCS has five positions to fill on the Board of Directors. Nomination forms were due today, Monday, October 1st. Presentation of board candidates will be held during the October PTO meeting and the election will then be held during the November PTO meeting.

First Quarter Midterm Progress Reports Released – Today, Monday, October 1st

Progress reports are in today’s take home folders. You may keep the report for your records. Please sign the envelope, acknowledging you have received the report, and return it to the school office.

Ski-Hi Apple Orchard Field Trip – Wednesday, October 10th

Students in 1st through 4th grade will be visiting Ski-Hi Fruit Farm. There will be 30 students on this trip and approximately 6-7 drivers will be needed to help with transportation and supervision. Permission slips were sent home last week. A donation of $5 is suggested for this trip. If you would like to sponsor a student you are invited to send payments payable to CCS.

Kindergarten Field Trip – Friday, October 19th

Students in Mrs. Hilario’s class will be visiting Country Bumpkin Farm in Wisconsin Dells. Permission slips are in today’s take home folders. Chaperones and drivers have already been arranged for this trip.

Box Top Challenge – Through October 23rd

The challenge is on! Beginning today and running through Tuesday, October 23rd students are encouraged to collect and bring in Box Tops, Milk Moola, Coke Rewards and Ranch Rewards (Pizza Ranch wagon wheels) for their classroom. At the end of the challenge the class with the highest percentage of collected items will earn a special reward.

CCS Craft & Vendor Fair – Saturday, November 3 (9:00 am to 3:00 pm)

We still have some room for a few more craft vendors. Do you craft or know someone who does? CCS is looking for “crafty” persons to set up a booth during our 6th Annual Craft & Vendor Fair. For more information please contact the office.

Parent/Teacher Conferences – Thursday, November 8th and Friday, November 9th

For parents who have not yet signed up for a conference time, please stop by or contact the school office to schedule your appointment.

Parent/Student Meetings with the Board

There will be two meetings at which members of the governing body of the school will be present and at which all pupils and the parents or guardians of all pupils applying to attend the school or attending the school may meet and communicate with board members. The meetings will take place at CCS at the following dates and times:

Friday, November 9 at 1:00 pm

Thursday, February 7 at 6:30 pm

Volunteer Opportunity – Lunchroom/Recess Supervision

CCS is looking for a few superhero volunteers to help monitor the lunchroom and/or outdoor recess during lunch time each day. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact the school office: 608-448-2191.
