Norma Spencer is the Administrative Assistant at CCS. She graduated from Mauston High School in 1964. She has been blessed to have worked for Sauk County in the Child Support Agency and Clerk of Courts office. She was a legal secretary for a number of years working for one of the senior partners at Foley & Lardner in Madison, WI. She retired from her position to care for her daughter’s two children.
Norma brings to her position at CCS a highly organized and efficient person who is never afraid to dive in and help. Norma said, “I have been around the block and have many life experiences that have helped me to have compassion for others.” She believes the Holy Spirit placed her at CCS to bring a spirit of joy and laughter to the school.
She has been married for 55 years to her husband, Chuck. They have a son and daughter and five grandchildren. Norma enjoys taking car rides (because that is great conversation time), writing letters, times spent with family and friends and her favorite part of life is watching the hand of God move in her life and the lives of others.
Jesus reached out to her and her husband in 1971 and they said “Yes, Lord, we need you – we need a savior.” They attend a home church.
Norma tells the story of her father-in-law liking to tease her and she didn’t understand why it was always her and not the other daughter-in-laws. One day he said “Norma, it is better to be teased than ignored.” She knew she was his favorite from that day on!
